Well, winter is here. Marinas are all empty with a few exceptions and after a fairly mild start, the wind and snow has hit West Michigan and it feels like it’s here to stay. Winter in the Great Lakes might be a terrible time to be out on the water, but it’s a great time to catch up on all of the projects you couldn’t, or didn’t want to start in the summer.

Winter is especially perfect for bigger projects that make your boat unusable for a while. No one wants to waste even one good day in the sun, so rip up the carpet, repack stuffing boxes, or change the cutlass bearings.

Hopefully, your boat project task list is manageable for the next few months, but if you’re like me – you enjoy the work anyway.
